Liverpool 4-1 Stoke City: Player ratings – Reds run riot as Klopp rings the changes

Simon Mignolet – 7.3

Mignolet has looked a lot more assured recently and put in another good display here. Couldn’t do anything for the goal but did make one outstanding save to prevent another set play goal to be conceded.

Nathaniel Clyne – 7.0

Clyne had another good performance and has become a beacon of consistency for Liverpool this season. Defended solidly and provided a good outlet down the right.

Martin Skrtel – 6.6

A much more assured performance from the Slovakian international after his shambolic display against Southampton the last time he played. Gave away the free kick which lead to Stoke’s equaliser, but this was a much better performance from Skrtel.

Kolo Toure – 6.5

Had a couple of shaky moments at the back but overall had a good game. Toure has had a good season and whenever he has had the chance to step up he has put in good performances consistently.

Alberto Moreno – 8.1

Moreno’s good form continues as he was solid defensively all game and scored a cracker of a goal, which has been coming for him this season. Provided a great asset down the left hand side and was always running the flank.

Joe Allen – 8.7

A fantastic performance from Allen today, he set the tempo of the game with the way he pressed and his energy in the middle of the park. He has had a massive upturn in form since Klopp took over and with Henderson’s injury he will now get a chance to showcase his ability more consistently.

Kevin Stewart – 7.7

The youngster made only his second Premier League appearance for Liverpoo, after making his Premier League debut coming off the bench in the 6-0 win over Aston Villa. He put himself about and distributed the ball brilliantly all game as well as winning some good tackles as well. Virtually unknown under Rodgers but Klopp has transformed the 20 year old.

Sheji Ojo – 6.8

Struggled at times in the first half but he never gave up, provided a wonderful run and cross to set up Sturridge’s goal but did lose the ball a number of times as we struggled to hold onto the ball at the end of the first half. Got substituted at half time for tactical reasons but it proved to work a treat for the second half.

Roberto Fermino – 6.6

Not his best game in a Liverpool shirt but he is easing his way back from the injury he sustained before the international break, drifted in and out of the game but showcased some lovely touches.

James Milner – 8.3

A real captains performance from Milner today, worked his socks of all game and provided two assists. His delivery’s from set plays was fantastic, especially the one for Divock Origi’s first goal.

Daniel Sturridge – 8.2

A fantastic display from the recently criticised Englishman, with his attitude being heavily criticised from many Liverpool supporters. That attitude was not on display here as he pressed the ball heavily, took part in a lot of the build-up play and did what he does best which is scoring goals.

Subs

Divock Origi 8.4 (Sheji Ojo 45)

A fantastic performance from the young Belgium who is showing so much confidence in recent times, a far cry from his performances under Brendan Rodgers and at the start of Jurgen Klopps reign. Took his two goals brilliantly and was a constant menace all game to the Stoke back four.

Origi now has 3 goals in 4 days

Adam Lallana 6.7  (Roberto Fermino 68)

Showed some neat touches when he came on as he calmed the tempo of the game well and he helped Liverpool keep possession.

Lucas Leiva 6.0 (Joe Allen 82)

Lucas made his return to injury as he came on for the impressive Joe Allen, he has been out for 6 weeks so will need to be eased in but he could play a pivotal role in our end of the season.
