Skrtel and Ibe leave the club for a combined 20million

fenerbahce and Bournemouth have both announced the signings of Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and winger Jordon Ibe for a combined fee of 20million.

Skrtel is a vastly experienced centre back who made 319 appearances for the club after he was signed from Russian club Zenit St Petursburg for a fee of 5million.

The Slovakian international had been at the club for 8 years and scored a impressive 18 goals in his time at Liverpool.

The 31 year old had fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool last season under Jurgen Klopp as he built up a partnership between Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho, with veteran defender Kolo Toure being utilised before Skrtel was.

It’s sad to see a player go after such a long time at the club and many memory’s but clearly now the time is right Skrtel to leave the club after a number of high profile errors in the last few seasons.

Jordan Ibe has also left the club after showing so much promise last season he has also fallen down the pecking order at Anfield.

The 20 year old made 58 appearances for the club with all four of his goals coming last season, but only one coming in the Premier League. Ibe made his Liverpool debut at just 17 years old and a game against QPR three years ago and hasn’t capped off on his potential that he once had.

A fee of 15million represents fantastic business by the Reds as he is a player that hasn’t proven himself in the Premier League as of yet and for him and Bournemouth it is a good move as he will get first team football as well as giving Bournemouth the chance at attempting to fulfil his talent that he has at just 20 years old.

Ibe fallen down the pecking order under Klopp like Skrtel did as he was the only senior winger at the club and still wasn’t able to get into a team that was struggling for width, with Mane’s signing this further pushed him to the exit door.

Liverpool fearing the worst over Emre Can injury

Emre Can faces a agonizing wait to see if he has suffered ligament damage

Emre Can faces a agonizing wait to see if he has suffered ligament damage

According to the Liverpool Echo Liverpool are growing increasingly concerned that German midfielder Emre Can could miss the remainder of the season after he picked up a ankle injury in the dramatic 4-3 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

The Liveprool Echo believe that the club is fearing the worst ahead of a scan for the 22-year-old, who will face a agonizing wait to see if he has suffered ligament damage which could make him a doubt for Germany’s Euro campaign.

Can was seen on the pitch celebrating Liverpool’s win after the final whistle, but he was seen wearing a protecting boot on his injured ankle.

Can will join the likes of fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson and Cristian Benteke in the treatment room, as well as long term absentees Danny Ings and Joe Gomez who have missed the majority of the season.

The German was already sidelined for the match with Bournemouth on Sunday as he serves the second of his two match suspension, but he’s looking increasingly unlikely to feature in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday as well.

Lallana does not want to leave Southampton on bad terms due to his longstanding stay there, but he believes now is the right time to move on.

The Merseyside giants want Lallana to force through a move to Liverpool this summer, but understand that he has to concentrate on the World Cup with England right now.

Liverpool are not willing to budge from their 25million take-it-or-leave-it deal, even if Southampton want 30million for their captain.

The 26-year-old is desperate to move to Liverpool and is expected to hand in a formal transfer request to Southampton, who he has already told he wants to join Liverpool to challenge for trophy’s and play in the Champions League.

Lallana could even refuse to play in Southampton’s pre-season matches if the South Coast club refuse to speak with Liverpool.
